There are a few distinctions between a BAS and BS degree, starting with a BAS degree is generally meant to build on an AS degree earned at another institution. Secondly, while BS degrees tend to emphasize theoretical, conceptual knowledge, BAS programs focus on hands-on experience in more technical areas of interest or study. Finally, BAS degrees are designed to take less time to complete than the average BS program.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), health services managers can earn a median annual salary of $110,680, while substance abuse counselors earn median annual pay of $53,710.

Admissions Requirements 

For admission to your Bachelor of Applied Science online degree program, you will need to complete your online application and submit the following documents:  

  • Online Application 
  • Official Transcripts 
    All colleges and universities previously attended. If you have fewer than 24 college credits, you will need to submit your official high school transcript. 

If cumulative college GPA is below a 2.0, the following will also be required: 

  • Résumé 
  • Letter of intent/personal statement 
    (1–2 page document indicating your interest in the program and Lindenwood)
