Interdisciplinary Studies

This international relations minor introduces the framework of international relations, from international relations theory to the trends and decisions driving economic, social, and political landscapes at global scale. The minor in international relations is an 18-credit program that offers the opportunity to focus learning on elective interest areas such as American foreign policy, ideology and international relations, and governing Europe. This international relations minor enhances a number of degree majors, including business administration, marketing, and many more.

This American studies minor presents an introduction to American Studies, including how the definition of America has changed over time in relation to variables within culture and society. The American studies minor is an 18-credit program that offers the opportunity to refine elective course studies within English and History topics that focus on America. Students can further specialize in their learning through a choice of emphases within Identity, Justice, and Politics and Public Policy coursework options.  

This Asian studies minor explores Asia from a historical perspective, as well as contemporary China. along with the impact of art across history, as well as that of visual culture on society. The minor in Asian studies is an 18-credit program that lets students refine learning through elective course focuses in religions of India, Japanese culture and society, history of world cinema, and more. Students have the opportunity to develop a Mandarin language proficiency through elective studies.

This minor in ethical reasoning develops the framework for approaching life through an ethical lens. The minor in ethical reasoning is an 18-credit program that examines a philosophical approach to ethical reasoning, with the opportunity to refine learning through focuses in ethics and human action, the natural law, bioethics, philosophy of love, and more. Elective course studies in areas such as business law and game theory allow for further refining of learning aims.  

This critical thinking minor introduces a philosophical approach to logic and critical thinking. the impact of art across history, as well as that of visual culture on society. The critical thinking minor is an 18-credit program that lets students customize their learning to fit their interests in free will, philosophy of religion, and traditional logic, among others. Students can further customize their learning through elective topics such as Asian cinema and public debate.

This geography minor explores world geography as well as an introduction to geographic information systems. The minor in geography is an 18-credit program that offers the opportunity to refine learning through two required elective coursework tracks in areas as diversified as oceanography and basic statistics. The geography minor can enhance a number of degree majors such as international business, international relations, business administration, and more.
