As an art minor, you can commit your future entirely to your creativity or artistic practice, or you can enhance your education or career through a creative focus.

This art history minor examines the impact of art across history, as well as that of visual culture on society. The minor in art history is an 18-credit program that explores pivotal periods from art history, along with art theory and criticism. Various styles of artistic expression, such as Baroque, Cubism, Abstract Expressionism, among others are studied.

This digital photography minor offers a well-rounded examination of digital photography – from techniques to technology. The minor in photography is an 18-credit program that explores foundational web design elements and principles, essential camera and composition skills, and digital photography software options. Students can prepare for their Adobe Certification in Photoshop testing as part of this photography minor.

This game design minor examines the lifecycle of game design, including game programming, 3d modeling, 3D and 2D game development. The minor in game design is an 18-credit program that explores critical theory and history within game development, along with primary game genres. The game design minor offers the opportunity to learn how to rapidly prototype games through the use of popular game engines.

This graphic design minor covers the essentials of graphic design, including principles of design, color theory, perception, and problem solving within 2D design. The minor in graphic design is a 21-credit program that explores drawing, typography, print design and production, and imaging and illustration. The graphic design minor prepares students to test for their Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator certifications.

This minor in studio art examines the essentials of studio art expression and production, including two- and three-dimensional design, color theory, drawing, figure drawing, and graphic design. The studio art minor is a 21-credit program that lets students pursue a specialized path in areas such as sculpture, ceramics, painting, and digital photography. Through the studio arts minor, students can prepare to test for their Adobe Photoshop certification credential.

I only have great things to say about the Art History and Visual Culture program at Lindenwood. There is such a close connection to my teachers and classmates that it does not feel like I am doing distance education. I am so thankful I found this school and graduate program.
